Dave O’Callaghan
Former Vice President of Worldwide Commercial Sales at Cisco
Dave has been an active member of the Daniels community for nearly a decade teaching in the EMBA program.
His 30 year career in technology spanned across Hitachi, Cisco and VMware. At Hitachi, Dave held various sales roles including the RVP of the Western Region. At Cisco, Dave held many roles, including: Vice President of WW Commercial Sales, where he drove the go to market for the $10B segment. Also, Vice President of Worldwide Distribution, where he was responsible for driving Cisco’s distribution strategy and execution, a cornerstone of Cisco’s go-to-market that served thousands of Cisco Channel Partners. His final role in high tech was as Senior Vice President at VMware responsible for the Global Partner Organization driving partnerships across partner types world wide.
Based in Denver, Dave served Governor Bill Owens as a Commissioner on the Governor’s Commission on Science and Technology. The Commission was responsible for assisting the Governor in leading Colorado’s technology vision for the 21st century. The work included driving up educational capability within Colorado, and rolling out technology initiatives to benefit the general public.
O’Callaghan was a Board Member for Colorado State University’s Industry Advisory Board to assist CSU in understanding the needs of industry in education. He has also has been a member of the Board of Directors for Volunteers of America in Denver assisting VOA to support the underprivileged in Colorado for over five years. He is currently an active Board Member of Adoption Dreams Come True in Fort Collins, Colorado.
O’Callaghan received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Bowling Green State University, and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati.
He resides in Denver, Colorado with his wife, Colleen.
